Gujamamanitara - Jiro Taniguchi & Caribu Marley
"Gujamamanitara" (ぐじゃままにたら) is a comedic traditional Japanese folktale originating from the Noto region. It tells the story of a well-meaning but incredibly sluggish and easily flustered young girl nicknamed "Guji" (a play on the Japanese onomatopoeia guzu-guzu, meaning to dawdle or move slowly). Adapted by Caribu Marley and featuring early artwork by the legendary Jiro Taniguchi, this rare gem was originally self-published in extremely limited numbers in 1972. It was reprinted in Signal Vol.1 in 2012.
